Plan Monitor
Scope of Functions
The Plan Monitor is a new application component developed for Release 3.0A. It is a tool with which production planners can evaluate the quality of a production plan before releasing it for execution, and is meant to be used together with the interactive production planning board. Planners can create simulations and perform what-if analysis on current or stored planning versions.
The Plan Monitor evaluates the real-time status of a plan for a given time period and assigns scores to the results. It allows you to evaluate and compare the results of various planning and transactional simulation versions, and to compare planning situations in different time frames. The results can be displayed either in a table or a configurable graph, or a combination of both. You must maintain key figure profiles to define what should be evaluated.
The Plan Monitor can be used as a stand-alone transaction or together with the Detailed Scheduling planning board.
If you want to use the Plan Monitor as a stand-alone transaction, you must maintain the application data setting in the key figure profile and define the planning version, time period and object definition for the key figures you want to evaluate. Otherwise, the system will automatically evaluate the key figures of the current PP/DS application. The use of application data can be:
·,,additional
·,,alternative
·,,not at all
Choose 'alternative' if you are accessing the Plan Monitor from an application that has its own objects as characteristics, and you want to use that data instead of the data defined in the key figure profile. Choose 'additional ' if you want to use the application objects together with those defined in the key figure profile, for example, if you want to compare evaluation results for different objects.
Key Figures
The following key figures can be evaluated in the Plan Monitor:
Resources:
Setup time, production time, load, total and free capacity
Times:
Lead time, lay time, wait time, WIP time, gross and net operation duration, product and order average
Quantities:
Open quantity, yield quantity, confirmed quantity, scrap quantity, original quantity
Order pegging:
Maximum lateness, total lateness, lateness weighted by quantity
Effects on Customizing
No further Customizing is necessary.
