APO-PPS-BF: Quota Arrangements in APO

Use

As of Release 3.0A (First Customer Shipment and Support Package 1), you are now able to use quota arrangements in APO. Quota arrangments can be maintained The external procurement functions in APO have been extended to include scheduling agreements, contracts, and info records. You can maintain quotas for these new types of procurement relationships. The quota represents a proportionate weighting without any dimension, according to which the quantities are to be distributed. Quotas are described as in-going or out-going depending from whether you consider the perspective of the source or target location.

Example:

The unit of measure for this example is pieces: The location A has a requirement for a product of 400 pieces.

• In-going quota arrangement for location B: 5

• In-going quota arrangement for location C: 3

The requirement of location A is divided into 250 pieces for location B and 150 pieces for location C.

You are also able to define whether the requirements quantity is allowed to be split, the minimum requriements split quantity, as well as in which period requirements are allowed to be grouped together.

You can define quota arrangement items for partner locations, external procurement and for in-house production. In APO, planning is performed according to heuristics. You can define which heuristic is to be used to plan the quota arrangement items. Each quota arrangement item is planned separately in APO in order to take planning parameters, such as, lot.sizing procedures, procurement times, rounding profiles or the vendor's calendar of the different sources of supply into account. Currently in APO Release 3.0A (First Customer Shipment and Support Package 1), if you have maintained quotas for a product and location, the source of supply determination will only display/select the quota arrangements. However, the quantities are not yet distributed according to the weightings. This will be possible in the future using a new quota arrangement heuristic. The new quota arrangement heuristic will distribute the requirements to the various quota arrangement items and call up the heuristic with which each quota arrangement item is to be planned.
