Short text
APO-PPS-PRE: Changes when rescheduling manually using Drag&Drop
Use
Up until now, the scheduling function was automatically started in the DS planning board when an operation or an order was shifted manually using Drag&Drop. After you had shifted an operation or order to the desired date using Drag&Drop, the system tried to schedule the operation or order on that desired date. In particular, the object was scheduled by shifting a deallocated object.
As of Release 3.0A (Support Package 3), you can specify for each chart which of the following actions the systems executes when you shift an object in or into a chart using Drag&Drop:
- Schedule/reschedule
- The system tries, as before, to schedule or reschedule the object. A deallocated object loses its status of deallocated after it has been successfully (re)scheduled.
- Deallocated
- The system deallocates the shifted object. The object is given the status deallocated.
- No action
- The object remains in its original position and retains its status.
You enter this setting in Customizing for the chart in the planning board profile, in the field Drag&Drop act. The standard setting is schedule/reschedule.
The setting is only relevant for manual scheduling using Drag&Drop. You can execute heuristics as before, independent of this setting.
