Master Data: Resources

Scope of Functions

Initial Screen:

The initial screen for the Resource Master has changed for Release 2.0A. You no longer need to define the resource type that you wish to maintain in this screen. Instead, you select a resource in the initial screen Resources in the maintenance view of Master Data for resources Change orDisplay Resources, where you have an overview of all resource types which are displayed in parallel, each on a different tab. You can also see whether resources are maintained for each type, and if so, how many.

Location-Independent Resources:

Until now, it was necessary to assign a location to a resource in the Resource Master. This is no longer necessary for Release 2.0A. You can now create a resource without maintaining a location.

Mixed Resources:

Previously, it was only possible to maintain certain resources for the areas Capable to Match (CTM), Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) and Supply Network Planning (SNP). There are now single mixed resources and multi-mixed resources which can be used for all planning areas. This means you can plan these resources to varying degrees of precision, from days to seconds.

Single mixed and multi-mixed resources have no dimensions and can be planned on a "time" basis.

Model Assignment:

It is now possible to assign model-independent resources to a model directly from the Resource Master. It is no longer necessary to make this assignment in the Supply Chain Engineer.

System Administration:

Before maintaining resource Master Data, you should run the report /SAPAPO/RCRESXPRA20A to update the resource header table to Release 2.0A. Enter SE38 in the transaction field -> Enter the report name -> Choose Enter.
