Short text
PP/DS: Push Production
Scope of Functions
Push production allows you to plan a production process starting with an ingredient that is to be consumed.
Push production takes place in two steps:
- Identification of a planning problem
- Generation of a consumer for the available material
The most important tool for recognizing a planning problem is the Alert Monitor. It comprises alerts that refer to available material for which the system has no consumer.
You can call up push production from both the Alert Monitor and the product view (PP/DS). In the push production view, orders can be generated in the system that consume the available material. When these are scheduled, the availability of all other ingredients and production capacities is check simultaneously.
All generated orders are then created at the same time and can be discarded again if required.
The following support is available to the scheduler on the push production view:
- Suggestions from the system for problem-solving
- Simulations
- Interactions
- Links to the following applications so planners can analyze and process the orders generated
- Alert Monitor
- Product view
- Production process model
- Order processing
