PP/DS: Updating the DS planning board

Scope of Functions

If you access the detailed scheduling planning board (DS planning board, DS=detailed scheduling) it displays a snapshot of the current schedule. While you are in the planning board, you schedule on the basis of this snapshot. All changes that you make to the schedule in the planning board are local, this means:

• they only affect the system session in which you are currently working with the planning board

• the planning version, which you used to access the planning board remains unchanged

While you are working with a planning board, the schedule can change:

• Other planners make changes, by confirming operations, for example.

• You yourself are working in various system sessions at the same time with several planning boards and creating different schedules.

• You create orders in the planning board, change or delete orders.

Up to now you could not update the schedule displayed in the planning board, to see the changes made. This is possible, however, in Release 2.0. For further informaion see the documentation on Production planning and detailed scheduling under Refreshing the planning board.
