ALM Valuation Type (Enhanced)

Use

The gap valuation type has been renamed to ALM valuation type. There is a new maintenance transaction for the ALM valuation type. The general settings for calculating the write-down are now found in the general settings for the ALM valuation type. In addition, the settings specific to the valuation rule, and those specific to the write-down rule, are now maintained in the ALM valuation type.

In 4.62, the mapping of loans was changed so that the setting Capital commitment in the data relevant for display was no longer accessed in the date field Term end, but in End of fixed interest period. In the general settings (specific to the valuation rule, and can be overridden), you can now define which of the two dates the system is to use (indicator End of Loan -> Default Setting: Include End of Fixed Interest Period).

In the ALM valuation type, you can define from now on whether the off-balance sheet volume is to be included in the interest result evaluation (indicator Balance Sheet Volume in Interest Result, the default setting is for off-balance sheet transactions not to be included). Previously, the result was influenced by off-balance sheet transactions, but it was only the balance sheet volume that was displayed in the interest result evaluation (for example, in the asset-side volume column). The indicator only influenced the relevant volume columns.

If you are upgrading your system from Banking 4.61, or from an earlier release, the system recognizes that no ALM valuation types have been created. It automatically creates an ALM valuation type for each evaluation type, and assigns it the same name and parameters as the evaluation type. If you are upgrading from Banking 4.62 or CFM 1.0, you have to run report RJBRAUSWT_GAPART in the ABAP Editor (transaction SE38) and assign an ALM valuation type to each evaluation type. Based on this assignment, the general settings for calculating write-downs, and the settings specific to the valuation rule and to the write-down rule are shifted from the evaluation type to the assigned ALM valuation type.
