Short text
Splitting the Validity of a Limit (New)
Use
From SAP R/3 Enterprise Financial Services 2.00 (EA-FINSERV 200), you are able to split the validity of a limit. This is useful when you want to change the amount of a limit, as you do not have to make the existing limit invalid, and then create a completely new limit. Instead, you can define whether you want to change the future part of the limit only, or change the history of the limit as well. The new part of the limit is different from the old part of the limit only in terms of its amount and its validity period. The validity period of the new limit is the remaining validity period of the original limit. If the split limit contains one or more interim limits, then the system adjusts these appropriately.
Effects on Existing Data
Effects on Data Transfer
The limit utilizations are updated. In previous releases, when you called the limit utilizations, the system displayed only the current value of the limit, even for periods of time in the past. In the new release, the system displays the limit amount that applied for each point in time.
