Valuation of Participation Certificates (New)

Use

From SAP R/3 Enterprise Financial Services 2.00 (EA-FINSERV 200), you are able to value participation certificates in market risk analysis and ALM simulation.

The method is the same as that used for valuing bonds, the only difference being that accrued interest must not be calculated.

Effects on Existing Data

After you have upgraded your system to SAP R/3 Enterprise Financial Services 2.00, you can value all the bonds stored in the system, including their accrued interest, without changing any of the existing data.

Effects on Customizing

You make the setting in the Customizing for Market Risk Analysis. The relevant IMG activity is define and set up evaluation type. Choose the relevant valuation rule, and then choose the Evaluation Control tab page.

If you want to value participation certificates, you must ensure that the Calculate Accrued Interest indicator is not set.

In your productive system you can also find the IMG activity in the SAP Easy Access Screen by choosing Accounting → Bank Applications → Risk Analysis → Market Risk Analysis → Evaluation Control → Valuation Settings → Define and Set Up Evaluation Type.
