Benchmarking (New)

Use

From SAP ECC Enterprise Extension Financial Services 6.0 (EA-FS 600) you can compare the yields of portfolios with benchmark yields. This is done in the nodes of the portfolio hierarchy. The system contains the following transactions for this:

  • Definition of Benchmarks
In the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Accounting → Financial Supply Chain Management → Treasury and Risk Management → Portfolio Analyzer → Master Data → Benchmark → Edit Master Data for Benchmarks.
  • Assignment of Benchmarks to Portfolio Hierarchy Nodes
In the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Accounting → Financial Supply Chain Management → Treasury and Risk Management → Portfolio Analyzer → Master Data → Benchmark → Assign Benchmarks to Nodes in the Portfolio Hierarchy.
  • Definition of Benchmark Key Figures
In Customizing, choose Financial Supply Chain Management → Treasury and Risk Management → Portfolio Analyzer → Results Database → Edit Key Figures and Evaluation Procedures.
The existing transaction for processing key figures and evaluation procedures can now be used for benchmark key figures as well. The key figures are required for technical reasons so that the system can load benchmark data, such as market data, in to the Results Database. In the Analyzer Information System, the system can display only the benchmark returns that are defined by key figures.
  • Starting a Benchmark Run
In the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Accounting → Financial Supply Chain Management → Treasury and Risk Management → Portfolio Analyzer → Tools → Results Database → Calculate Benchmark Key Figures.
In the benchmark run, the system loads the benchmark data into the Results Database; it does not calculate any returns.
