Short text

Time-Dependent Reference Limit

Description

As of release 4.02 A, you can change a reference limit that is identified by its own ID without having to create a new reference limit with a new ID and without having to maintain it in the affected accounts.

Another advantage is that the change is also valid in the past and does not lead to erroneous results for account balancing.

Effects on Customizing

In the IMG, choose Current accounts-> Master data-> Limits-> Define reference limits.

Changes to the Interface

Choose Environment-> Current settings-> Define reference limits

Changes in procedure

The reference limit is to be changed. By creating a time period for an existing limit, you can create a time-dependent limit that you can set to be flexible to every change.

Example:

The reference limit with the ID 01 has 01/01/1800 entered as 'valid from date', meaning it is valid with no restrictions from January 1, 1800. You want to change this limit.

Now you enter 01/01/1999 as 'valid from date' for the reference limit with the ID 01. As of this date, the limit is a new reference limit.

If the amount of a reference limit is changed and the 'valid from date' is before the system date, you receive a warning, as such a change can possibly lead to incorrect account balancing adjustments.

Further notes

Existing tables from previous releases are converted by XPRA. The default value for the 'valid from date' is 01/01/1800.
