Standing Orders: Amount-Dependent Authorization

Description

As is already the case for payment orders and payment items, as of release 4.03 you can also set up amount-dependent authorization for standing orders, since before posting takes place, it can be necessary to include an additional authorization check.

Prerequisite for this is that you design an authorization concept, since amount-dependent checks can only result from the interaction between authorization maintenance, maintenance of the user master record and the settings in the Implementation Guide.

If you have set up such an amount-dependent authorization check, the system initially selects all entries in the application that match bank area, product and transaction type. If there are no entries for the transaction type, the system selects all entries that match the bank area and product. If there are no entries for the product, the system selects all entries that match the bank area. Bank area entries are required entries. Once entries have been selected in accordance with the bank area, the system looks for the highest amount that may be posted.

In addition to the amount-dependent authorization, you can also store the principle of dual control and have this applied as of a certain amount.

There are three different scenarios that can arise for amount-dependent release according to the principle of dual control:

  1. The amount entered is less than or equal to the maximum amount that the user is allowed to post => the transaction is actively saved or posted.
  2. The amount entered exceeds the maximum amount and the dual control indicator is set => the transaction is 'parked' and must be released.
  3. The amount entered exceeds the maximum amount and the dual control indicator is not set => the transaction is rejected.

Effects on Customizing

In the Implementation Guide, choose Authorization administration -> Amount-dependent authorizations.
