Tolerated Overdraft

Description

If a bank tolerates the overdraft of a current account of a natural person and the account has been overdrawn for more than an certain time period, in accordance with the consumer credit law the bank is required to inform the customer of the annual interest, incurred costs and any other changes.

As of release 4.03 there is a new function available to you to enable you to depict the requirement and to simplify monitoring of the transition.

This function consists of a check to see if there is a notification requirement regarding tolereated overdraft for an account or not. This check must be performed daily. Using the end of day balance on the current posting date for payment transactions the system checks if the limits have been exceeded. This check produces those accounts whose limits have been exceeded for a time period that you have specified. These are saved in a table and transferred to a business transaction event. The business transaction event transferes the address data and other data relating to the overdraft to a function module. You can format this to suit your requirements, much the same as for the bank statement.

Changes to the Interface

To find this function, choose Periodic tasks-> Tolerated overdraft.

Further notes

  • It is possible that the customer has not been informed of a change to the external limit during the account overdraft. For this reason, if the limit changes you can choose whether the overdraft is to be ignored or not.
  • For performance reasons only limits and reference limits in the current account currency on the day of the check are included. Note this particularly for accounts affected by currency changeover.
  • Limits in account hierarchies are not included.
