Reference Accounts for Account Balancing

Description

Since release 1.1 it has been possible to post the account balancing to an internal reference account. Until now, the interest and charges were posted directly to the reference account.

This means, however, that on the general ledger, the interest is updated for the account to which the interest was posted. It is not updated for the account on which the interest occurred.

Additionally, in some cases it can be desirable for the balancing to first be posted to the account referring to the reference account.

As of release 4.03, you can define for each account whether the posting is to be made directly to the internal reference account or whether the posting is first to be made to the account referring to the other account, and then to the reference account.

Changes to the Interface

When selecting the reference account for account balancing, instead of the radio button for internal reference accounts, we now provide each a button for internal direct reference accounts and one for internal indirect reference accounts.

If you wish to create an internal indirect reference account and select the icon 'Create', a dialog box appears in which you can specify transaction types and payment method.
