Changes in Variable Transactions for 4.61

Scope of Functions

1. Value maintenance and general ledger allocation (when value maintenance is "with flows from FI G/L accounts") can now be done ona time-dependent basis. Until now you had to specify a profitability analysis period in order to ensure that the value maintenance or general ledger allocation didn't change within a period. Since the variable transaction area is to be available for use without Bank Profitability Analysis as well, the period has now been replaced by a date. If Bank Profitability Analysis is active, checks are used to ensure that the value maintenance or general ledger allocation does not change within a period.
2. Until now, the number of the variable transaction could be assigned either internally or externally, based on the company code. Since the transactions are purely back office, internal number assignment is unnecessary. For this reason, there is no internal number assignment as from SAP Banking 4.61. The corresponding customizing activity becomes irrelevant.
3. With the help of deletion report JBVTDELE0, you can delete test data for variable transactions.

Effects on Existing Data

With reference to 1):
No effect since the period was stored as a date in the database.

Effects on Data Transfer

With reference to 1):
In the receiver structure "Variable Transactions - Master Data" within data transfer, the fields VM_FROM_PER and GL_FROM_PER were replaced by the fields VM_VALID_FROM and GL_VALID_FROM. You should adjust your extraction programs for the data transfer files accordingly.
