Characteristic Hierarchies in Release 4.61

Scope of Functions

Regarding the use of characteristic hierarchies within a portfolio hierarchy: as from Release 4.61, there is no more differentation of hierarchy types. All characteristic hierarchies are now treated as if they were type 1, that is, not selectively with remaining characteristic values as single nodes in the portfolio hierarchy. .

This restriction is necessary because as from Release 4.61 evaluation results are stored in relation to the portfolio hierarchy. You are no longer able to change the hierarchy definition, including the characteristic hierarchies used, when data exists. Only non-selective hierarchies ensure that data is complete over the longer-term, without the need for changes to the characteristic hierarchy.

The direct use of characteristic hierarchies within drilldown reporting remains unchanged.
