Time Deposit Account - Overview of Enhancements

Use

Time Deposits, also known as Fixed Term Deposits, is an enhancement to the core BCA functionality. There are three sections that make up Time Deposits, the Time Deposit Maintenance and the Time Deposit Redemption/Rollover and the Time Deposit Certificate Printing.

The Time Deposit Maintenance is where a Bank's Account Maintenance Officer can enter the details of the Time Deposit, post the account and print the Time Deposit Certificate.

The Time Deposit Redemption/Rollover is where a Time Deposit, at maturity, can be redeemed (cashed out) or rolled over, at which time a new certificate will be issued and printed.

The Time Deposit Certificate Printing will allow the print and reprint of the Time Deposit Certficates.

Effects on Existing Data

Time Deposit data has no impact on existing data. All Time Deposit specific data is stored separately in it's own tables.

Effects on Data Transfer

Time Deposit Maintenance screen has been integrated into core BCA utilizing the Business Data Toolset (BDT). See Time Deposit Maintenance for further details.

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

Time Deposits have a minimal impact to customizing. Most of the Time Deposits customization can be maintained through standard configuration. Time Deposit specific fields have been added to the Product Configurator and can be customized. A new table for the Certificate Number Range has been added to the IMG configuration. A number of Business Transaction Events (BTE) has been created so that Time Deposits can be customized to fit the customer's needs. These BTE's are:

-,,Interest Condition BTE to allow for customer specific adjustments to the Individual Interest Conditions

-,,Certificate Printing BTE to allow the customer control of data necessary for printing Time Deposit certificates to any medium specified by the customer
