Improvements in Performance (Enhanced)

Use

In order to improve the performance of end-of-day processing, we have enhanced parallel processing. Parallel processing is used for the following calculations:

• Counterparty risk

• Issuer risk (new)

• Netting

• External transactions (new)

In addition, the fields in the financial object Transaction Start for Counterparty/Country Risk and Transaction End for Counterparty Risk are used as selection criteria. The field Transaction End for Counterparty Risk is also used for the country risk.

Performance improvements in the Limit Management area:

We have made various improvements to performance in Limit Management for this release that speed up the generation of utilizations. Two central changes are described below:

Introduction of generated limit record tables

• In this release, you are able to create a limit record table for each limit type. This enables the system to access limit data faster. This procedure is helpful only if you have a large volume of data. You activate the use of generated limit record tables in Customizing under the basic settings for Limit Management. If Limit Management data already exists, before you activate the new function you need to run report RFTBLT01 to generate limit record tables for existing limit types. Then you have to run report RFTBLT02 to transfer the data to the new tables.

Parallel processing of totals record update

• If you want to be able to use several tasks at the same time as the system is generating totals records, as from this release you can run the update of totals records by limit types using parallel processing.
