Individual Value Adjustments using Reserve for Bad Debt (New)
Use
As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Financial Services, Enhancement Package 4 (EA-FS 604), Business Function Deposits - Business Operations (EAFS_BCA_BUSOPR), the value adjustment feature is enhanced by integrating with the Reserve for Bad Debt (RBD) component. In earlier releases, the individual value adjustment feature in BCA allowed you to manage credit risks. Now, by using the RBD component, you can create an RBD account not only for each BCA account, but also for each business partner. Creation of the RBD account at the business partner aggregation level enables you to determine the creditworthiness of a business partner.
Even if you activate the RBD component, you need to post the loss on receivable entries in BCA first. The system then automatically updates the loss on receivables amounts in RBD. To finally post the loss on receivables to Financial Accounting (FI) you must make the appropriate postings in RBD.
Caution:Once you activate the RBD solution:
- You can change back to the Bank Customer Accounts (BCA) individual value adjustment (IVA) feature only in a development or test system. Thus, you cannot use the BCA IVA feature again in a production system.
- You cannot use the following BCA transactions:
- Create IVA (F9HEWB1)
- Change IVA (F9HEWB2)
- Display IVA (F9HEWB3)
- Post IVA (F9HRVA)
- Edit Proposal List (F9HRVA_MT)
- Application log for Individual Value Adjustment (F963)
New Product Attributes in the Product Configurator
In the Product Configurator, you can now maintain the following new product attributes for RBD under Features -> Individual Value Adjustment:
o,,Individual Value Adjustment
o,,Display of RBD Account
