Link to the Collateral Management System (New)

Use

As of SAP R/3 Enterprise Financial Services 2.00 (EA FINSERV 200) you can use the link between Loans Management and the Collateral Management System (CMS) to display collateral agreements that cover the rights to the asset, the determination of the collateral value, and the purpose declaration. In addition, (standard) migration programs are available for transferring collateral data from Loans Management. In the context of Loans Management, you can use either the existing collateral management function or CMS.

If you have activated CMS, you can branch to CMS by choosing the Collateral Management System button in the contract. In the contract there is a new CMS Collateral tab page for displaying your collateral agreements. You can then no longer use the existing collateral management functions in Loans Management, in other words, the old Objects and Collaterals tab pages. The functions, Create, Change, Display for Objects, Collateral Value Determination and Collateral are also locked.

The link to CMS offers you functions to create, manage and monitor collateral objects.

  • CMS Object Management
Functions are available for managing objects agreed and offered as collateral. The relevant values from the value calculation function are transferred by way of interfaces to the CMS Collateral Management System.
  • CMS Collateral Management
The CMS Collateral Management System includes the main part of the business logic and the processes for managing and valuing collateral. The collateral agreement is displayed here. References to the transactions to be secured are also displayed.

Note: SAP CMS will be implemented as part of an SAP pilot project. CMS has not yet been released for customers. The aim is to replace the existing functions for mapping collateral in Loans Management (CML) with CMS. If you are interested in using CMS in the future, you should consult your account manager or sales contact person.

Effects on Existing Data

After the migration to activated CMS, you can delete the following data remaining in Loans Management at any time using the report Deletion of Data After Migration CMS (RFVD_CMS_DELETE_TABLES).

  • All master data for the collateral objects
  • All collateral and encumbrances
  • All collateral value calculations
  • All assignments to the contracts
The system documents the deletion of the assignments to contracts in the change documents for the respective contract.

Effects on Data Transfer

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

If you want to use CMS, you need to activate the CMS link and specify the system in which CMS is installed in the IMG activity Define General Installation Parameters.
