Short text

Reduction of a Consumer Loan (Extended)

Use

As of SAP ECC 5.00, Financial Services (EA-FS 500) the Reduction function is available as part of the function Change Consumer Loan. You use this function to execute a reduction for loans belonging to the category Consumer Loans (340), when the loan has already been created, and therefore has contract status, and the borrower wants to waive part of the loan amount.

This function corresponds to some extent with the existing function Withdrawing a Mortgage Loan for loans belonging to the category mortgage (300), although only the reduction function is incorporated here. In consumer loans, you can make a withdrawal using the rescission function, providing the loan has contract status.

If the loan has application or offer status, you do not need to carry out a reduction or a rescission. In such cases, you can change the loan amount by performing a new model calculation.

You will find more information about the new function for loans belonging to the category Consumer Loans (340) under Product Category Consumer Loans (340) (New).
