Interest on Arrears for Consumer Loans (Changed)

Use

As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension Financial Services 6.0 (EA FS 600) you can use a new function for calculation of interest on arrears for the product category Consumer Loans (340).

This function is based on a new calculation logic that is not dependent on the Calculation of Interest on Arrears function in Financial Accounting (FI). The calculation only takes place in the subledger for Loans Management (FS-CML) and not in the general ledger in Financial Accounting (FI) , as was previously the case. There is no interaction between the existing Calculation of Interest on Arrears function in FI and the new function. The new function is based on balance interest calculation and not on item interest calculation, as used in the calculation of interest on arrears in FI. Moreover, the system calculates the interest on arrears for each loan and not each customer account.

Effects on Existing Data

The interest on arrears calculation for the product category Consumer Loans (340) has been completely converted to the new procedure. If you are already using the interest on arrears calculation for consumer loans, you not only need to fulfill all of the prerequisites for using the function but you also need to complete additional conversion tasks. For more information about the conversion activities required, see SAP Note 851136.

Note

Since the new interest on arrears calculation is not controlled by way of the customer account, the system no longer uses or changes the corresponding fields, such as the date of the last interest calculation, or the interest on arrears indicator.

Effects on System Administration

Schedule the report Interest on Arrears Calculation for Consumer Loans (RFVD_IOA_CALC_MULT) before the dunning run, so that the system can also include posted interest on arrears in the dunning letter.

• Define Trivial Amount Limits per Calculation Profile

• Define Flow Type Groupings

• Assign Flow Types to Flow Type Groupings

• Assign Condition Types to Flow Type Groupings

• Assign Flow Type Groupings to Calculation Profiles

• Activate Interest on Arrears Calculation per Business Operation Category

If you want to use the release procedure within this function, you need to have set up the Release for this business operation category. For more information, see Release Objects for Consumer Loans (Enhanced).

If you want to use the correspondence function within the function for calculating interest on arrears, you need to complete the IMG activities under Correspondence with Correspondence Tool (SAP Smart Forms).
