Products and Conditions for Installment Loans (New)
Use
As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension Financial Services 6.0 (ES-FS 600), you can determine default values for loan products from the product category Installment Loan (360) by choosing Current Settings -> Installment Loans -> Products and Conditions. This allows you to offer your customers various, standardized products. You can use the functions listed below.
Product
You can create products to serve as the basis for loan contracts. You use the product settings in the system to derive the basic settings for your loan product centrally, at the administrative department for loans management of your organization. Loan contracts are then based on these pre-defined products.
SAP provides the following pre-defined products for installment loans in the standard system.
- Fixed Rate Installment Loans (FRIL)
- The interest rate is fixed, therefore the borrower pays the same payment installments over the whole term of the loan.
- Variable Rate Balloon Loan (VRBL)
- The interest rate is variable and a balloon payment is planned at the end of the term of the loan.
- Adjustable Rate Installment Loan (ARIL)
- The original term of the loan remains the same, but the interest rate varies. The system adjusts the payment installments accordingly.
- Interest Only Installment Loan (IOIL)
- The borrower pays only interest during the term of the loan. Repayment (of principal) occurs at the end of the term.
- Variable Single Payment Loan (VSPIL)
- The interest rate varies and the borrower pays interest and repays the principal in a single payment at the end of the term
Condition Table
You can create condition tables. With condition tables you can also define default values for conditions, such as interest rate or installment amount, centrally in the administration department for loans management area of your company. You apply conditions to your products by assigning condition tables to your products. These conditions are used by the system when you create a loan or perform business operations.
Condition Assignment
You can assign several condition tables to a product. The condition tables can be dependent on the organizational unit that completes the loan contract, and the sales channel through which the contract came into being. This means that you can assign different conditions to a product based on these conditions.

Effects on Existing Data
Product
SAP supplies standard attributes for the product that are arranged in an attribute hierarchy. With each upgrade, the system overwrites the standard attributes and the attribute hierarchy with the standard attributes and the attribute hierarchy from SAP reference client 000.
If you create your own customer-specific attributes in the customer namespace, the system does not overwrite these when an upgrade takes place. Because the system overwrites the attribute hierarchy during an upgrade, however, you have to enter your customer-specific attributes in the attribute hierarchy again. After an upgrade, you have to match your products to any changes that may have been made to the standard attributes.
