Here you define user-defined fields, you want to use for the determination of your category structure. The category structure fields are related, if you assigned them to a category structure (compare define category structure and relevance). This step is omitted, if you want to refer to any existing fields from the R/3-Dictionary.

For each field you must maintain the following setting:

  • Field key (unique name for identification)
  • Field length (16 characters as a maximum dependent on the category type)
  • Field type (character sequences, only with figures)
  • Field name (default value for the field name in the category structure)
  • Field key text (name that appears in the application in the dialog
  • window - language-dependent).
  • User-exit (optional)
You can use your own function module to create valid values with an explanatory text. The created interval is then used for the input check and the input help. An example is the function module J_4KC_UDCF_VALUE_EXIT_EXAMPLE that can also be used as template.
  • Valid values
You can define individual values or a value interval. To determine an interval, you must specify an upper and a lower value limit. Maintain a language-dependent explanation text.

Define the fields, you want to use in your category structure. Describe them by a meaningful text.

You can determine category structure fields that are completely independent of the fields that are defined in the R/3 memory. AFS recommends the usage of user-defined structure fields, if there are no Data Dictionary fields that meet your requirements.
