This step is necessary in the following cases:

  • You want to migrate to a higher release from AFS release 1.0x.
  • You want to secure the consistency of your Customizing settings for the grid value conversion (also useful when not upgrading).

The conversion function of the AFS system has been revised as of release 2.5B . This results in the following for the corresponding Customizing settings:

  • When maintaining grids, only dimension values are permitted which are defined in the Customizing table "Dimensions/Dimension Values" (this restriction was not valid in release 1.0x).
  • If the conversion is active for a grid, there must be an entry in the table Grid Value Conversion for every dimension value.

With the help of this process step, you can check these Customizing prerequisites and automatically create corresponding Customizing entries.

If you only want to check the table entries, you have to start the processing with start option Simulation.

If you want to automatically complete the Customizing tables, you have to start the processing with start option Update Database. The system then creates the following table entries:

  • In the table "Dimensions/Dimension Values", the system inserts all dimension values that are used in an existing grid but which do not yet exist in the table. This adjustment in only necessary when upgrading from a 1.0x release.
  • In the table "Grid Value Conversion" the system inserts for each base grid value an identical converted grid value (1 to 1 conversion). The system considers all conversion types that have at least one entry of the respective dimension.

The system uses the technical name of this processing (/AFS/CONV1) for both tables as the short text of the new entries. That way you can differentiate between automatically and manually created entries.

  1. First, you have to adjust the table "Dimensions/Dimension Values". To do this, start the processing with the corresponding option.
  2. Then adjust table "Grid Value Conversion". Again, start the processing with the corresponding option.

You can repeat the processing steps as often as you like.
