With the split valuation you have the possibility of differentiating partial stocks of a material by certain criteria and valuating them separately.

The division of a material stock is determined by the valuation type and the valuation category:

  • The valuation category determines with which criteria the differentiation of the partial stocks should be carried out.
  • The valuation type describes the characteristic value of the individual partial stock.

With the function "setting" you determine

  • which valuation categories exist in your company (global categories)
  • which valuation types exist in your company (global types)
  • which valuation types are connected to a valuation category
  • which valuation categories exist in a valuation area (local categories)

For the split valuation of AFS materials by dimension/category you can only use the valuation category X (automatic split valuation).

It is not possible to use several valuation categories for a material simultaneously. If, for example an AFS material should be valuated separately by dimension/category (valuation category X), it cannot be valuated separately by origin at the same time (valuation category H).

Your entries are relevant only if you have activated the split valuation in the function "Global settings".

Make sure that you have defined valuation category X (automatic split valuation) for your valuation areas.

For the split valuation of a material by dimension/category you do not need to define valuation types.
