AFS quotas are the result of politically motivated restrictions of the free goods movement. You define a restriction for the import of certain goods from a third country. If you have activated the check for AFS quotas in Customizing, you must define quota categories in this IMG activity that each include one or more quotas.
You have activated the check for AFS quotas for the source allocation in the IMG activityDefine Source Allocation Control.
- Define quota categories in this IMG activity and assign short descriptions.
- In Customizing define the quota category only (for example, XX, Import Shirts Eastern Europe). You put the import restriction of the respective countries and their quota quantities into concrete terms in the AFS application system. In the purchasing view of the material master you then make the assignment of the AFS quota and material.
