In this table you maintain the lot-sizing procedures you use in the MRP. As the AFS materials contain a large amount of grid values and categories, you can use the lot sizes that you use for AFS materials in the planning run to maintain and determine the order quantity at SKU level.

There are the following AFS lot-sizing procedures that are especially developed for AFS (see extended help):

  • Demand ratio spread - monthly (J1)
  • Demand ratio spread - weekly (J2)
  • Demand ratio spread - daily (J3)
  • SKU group procedure - monthly (J4)
  • SKU group procedure - weekly (J5)
  • SKU group procedure - daily (J6)
  • SKU group procedure 2 - monthly (JA)
  • SKU group procedure 2 - weekly (JB)
  • SKU group procedure 2 - daily (JC)

To use lot-sizing procedures in the AFS system, you must first maintain the parameter in the R/3 Standard Customizing (compare check lot-sizing procedure).

To determine the lot-sizing procedures for AFS, you use the following parameters:
- Lot-sizing procedure
- Lot-sizing indicator
- Date determination
- Number of periods

The following lot-sizing procedures are supported by AFS: S (static lot size) and P (period lot size).

The following lot-sizing procedures are supported by AFS: W (period lot size: weekly lot size, F (fixed lot size), E (exact lot size), T (daily lot size), M (monthly lot size) and K (period lot size by PPC planning calendar).

The following parameters for the date determination are supported by AFS: blank (requirements date: = availability date, 1 (period start: = availability date) and 2 (period end: = availability date).

To make the lot sizes that are defined in the Standard relevant for AFS, you must store them in the AFS Customizing by using function modules. For this you must carry out the following settings:

  • MRP lot-sizing key
  • Lot-sizing procedure
  • Lot-sizing indicator
  • AFS Text function module
  • AFS Long text

For further information see extended help.

All predefined lot-sizing procedures are included in the SAP Standard System. You can make modifications with the parameters that are supported by AFS.

The names of the lot sizes X1 to XC will be phased out in the future. They will be reserved for customer-specific names. SAP will name all future AFS lot sizes J1 to JC.
