For the distribution profiles of your planned independent requirements (compare define validity periods for distribution profiles), you can determine versions that are automatically defaulted by the system. You can create them at client or plant level and assign them to different applications.

Presizing

Version Profile for distribution to the dimensions of a T-Shirt

01 black/large 50%

black/medium 25%

black/small 25%

During the presizing, the planned independent requirements are distributed to the dimensions according to the defined profile version. The system automatically calculates the proportional distribution using your entries.

MRP

In the view MRP 1 of the material master you maintain a minimum lot size of 1000 pieces for your T-shirt at material level. The total of the planned independent requirements that are maintained at dimension level is 800 pieces. The system distributes the difference of 200 pieces proportionally to the dimensions according to the version of the distribution profile that is assigned to the material.

MRP - Safety Stock

In the view MRP 2 of the material master you enter a safety stock of 1000 pieces of your T-shirt at material level. During the planning run the system distributes the safety stock to the individual dimensions according to the version of the distribution profile that is assigned to the material.

Purchasing

For one of your regular customers you create a set that consists, for example, of an in-house produced T-shirt, a sun hat, and beach shoes. You order the outer fabric for the T-shirt at your regular vendor. As the purchase quantity does not differ much in each purchase order of the customer, you create the version of a distribution profile that best reflects the consumption of the outer fabric. If you now order the required quantity of the outer fabric at your regular vendor in order to satisfy the requirements of your customer, you can break down the quantity to the dimensions according to a previously defined distribution version.

So that the system automatically proposes one of your distribution versions, you have to carry out the following settings:

• Plant

• Default version per application

At plant level you can maintain another version with a differing distribution than at client level.

The usage of different versions of distribution profiles is only helpful if you use several materials.

Determine the distribution version you defined as proposal and the applications for one plant.

You assign the versions for distribution profiles to a certain material in the view AFS MRP of the material master.
In the Customizing table, version 00 (Standard version) is maintained as default. If you do not specify any distribution for your planned independent requirements the system equally distributes the requirements to the dimensions.
