In this section you determine your order scheduling strategy that is the basis for the order scheduling run in the sales order. In the order scheduling run in the sales order, schedule lines are grouped that are then delivered together.

Example

A sales order consists of several items. A customer orders several shoe styles (for example, sports shoes, ladies' and men's shoes) and various articles of clothing (such as suits, trousers, blouses). Every article is ordered in several sizes. Based on the availability of the different sizes, the corresponding delivery dates are displayed in the schedule lines. The usage of a corresponding order scheduling strategy could result in a combination of the shoe items and articles of clothing during the order scheduling run. Thus you can be sure that the both the shoes and articles of clothing are delivered to the customer.

Activities

  1. In the view Planning strategies/rules you enter an alphanumeric key (3 characters maximum) and a description for your order scheduling strategy. Select the field combination indicator if the system should group schedule lines according to the order scheduling.
  2. In the view Planning grouping fields you determine the fields in the sales order. Using the fields the system controls which schedule lines are combined by the order scheduling run. Schedule lines that match in the fields displayed here get the same scheduling group.
  3. In the view planning-routines you determine when and which order scheduling procedure should be used in your order scheduling strategy.

The order scheduling strategy can be specified in the customer master (AFS additional data) or centrally in the AFS settings for the sales document type. The value of the customer master has a higher priority than the value of the sales document type.
