You combine equal packing possibilities in packing types, for example large boxes or frequently requested packing procedures, e.g. to pack delicate articles separately. You uniquely define each packing type by assigning an indicator and a short text.

With the indicator, you and the system can distinguish between the different packing types.

With the short text you enter which packing should be performed before delivery. Be sure to choose an informative short text so that the goods are correctly packed if you have not sent a VAS-material that defines the packing with the packing type.

You can change the short text of packing types any time, even if you have already used or are currently using the type. You should only delete a packing type if you are certain you no longer use it with valid VAS-conditions.

Some of your customers request special packing for certain goods. You have received instructions to pack articles, such as blouses and shirts, separately in plastic. The blouses and shirts should be packed in separate boxes. Each box should contain a maximum of 20 pieces. To send these instructions to your warehouse, you define three packing types:

  • PL1 put material into plastic covers
  • VP1 pack men's clothing separately
  • UK1 20 pieces maximum per box

You assign these packing types to the customer using VAS-conditions or directly in the order. During the further order processing, the warehouse gets the relevant information and can pack the goods before delivery according to the customers requests.
