SAP E-Book

In this IMG Activity you assign a pack level to various ID version/encoding type/filter value combinations within SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure (SAP AII). The pack level determines which SAP AII object (such as an item or a case) can be packed within another SAP AII object (such as a case or pallet).

You can pack one object into another if the pack level value for the first object is less than the pack level value of the second object. For an illustration, see the examples below.

  • You have configured the relevant rules such that packing is done according to pack level.

Pack levels are not delivered. If you do not define them in this activity, then the pack level of an object is the same as its filter value.

NOTE: Untagged objects are always at pack level 0.
  1. Choose New Entry.
  2. Select an ID versionusing F4.
  3. Select an encoding type using F4.
  4. Select a filter value using F4.
  5. Specify a numeric packing level.
  6. Saveyou entry.

Below is an example of possible settings for filter values and pack levels. In this example, the Standard Trade Item could be packed within the Logistical/Shipping Unit since 1 is less than 2.
