In this Customizing activity, you can create applications for Bank Analyzer (software component FSAPPL). You assign exchange rates and yield or spread curves to an application. These exchange rates, yield curves, and spread curves are then made available to external applications by means of the outbound service for data provision.

  1. Create an application and assign the following to it:
  • Long text

  • Market data area

  • Exchange rate category

  1. If you want to import exchange rates, under Main Currencies assign the currencies for which you want to import exchange rates for the application.
  2. If you want to import yield curves or spread curves, enter the following settings under Yield Curve Types:
Assign the yield curve type. You define yield curve types in Customizing activity Edit Reference Interest Rates and Yield Curves.
Yield curves:
  • You use the Export Type to define whether the grid points of the yield curve type are to be used, or whether the system is to use a different yield curve for the reference rate to interpolate the yield curve.

  • If you want to use the grid points of the yield curve, you can use the Interest Rate Type for Export indicator to define whether zero rates or money market and swap rates are to be used.

Spread Curves:
  • Note that you cannot change the export type for spread curves. This is because you have to specify a reference curve for the spread curve when you import the grid points. Specify the market data area, yield curve type, and the currency.

Then create one general primary data source of the category worklist each for exchange rates, and for yield curves in Customizing for Bank Analyzer under Infrastructure -> Communication and Worklist Service -> Data Sources -> Primary Data Sources -> Edit Primary Data Sources. Note the following settings:

  1. On the General Data tab page, choose the Exchange Rates or Yield Curves server.
  2. On the Attributes tab page, specify the application.
  3. On the Characteristics and Key Figures tab pages, enter the characteristics and key figures that are to be transferred.

You can use the general primary data source in Calculation and Valuation Process Manager (CVPM) to make data available to other applications.
