Configure the compression and decompression settings for outgoing and incoming messages.

In this activity, you maintain the settings that define if and how the content of outgoing and incoming messages should be compressed and decompressed, respectively.

Please ensure that these settings align with SAP Multi-Bank Connectivity and the relevant bank.

There are several scenarios for handling zipped payloads within the connector for SAP Multi-Bank Connectivity.

1. Incoming Single File Archive (ZIP or GZIP)
In this case, an incoming MBC message contains a payload which is a compressed archive with one file. During inbound processing, the archive is directly decompressed. The compressed message content is then replaced by the decompressed message content and the MBC message is then further processed by the normal inbound processing.

2. Incoming Multi-File Archive (ZIP only)

In this case, an incoming MBC message contains a payload which is a compressed archive with several files. During inbound processing, the message content of such a message is decompressed. Since decompression creates several files, a new incoming MBC message is created for each of the decompressed files. Header information such as Message Type and Sender IDor Receiver IDare copied over to these newly created sub messages. After decompression, the status of the original message is set to Processed and normal inbound processing is triggered for the newly created sub messages.

3. Outgoing Single File Archive (ZIP or GZIP)

In this case, the content of an outgoing MBC message is compressed during the sending of the message. The compression happens before security functions such as encrypt or sign are applied.
