In this IMG activity you assign transaction categories and item categories to the internal transaction types in Entitlement Management. However, you can also assign external transaction types from other systems (for example, SAP ECC) to the internal transaction types in Entitlement Management.

The assignment groups transaction types together and provides information within the Entitlement Management entitlement history (field Transaction Category). No functional control is attached to it.

You never see all internal transaction types simultaneously in the input help, but rather a filtered selection depending on the transaction category and item category that you enter.

You define the document types in the IMG activity Define Entitlement-Specific Transaction Categories
