This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the SAP Commercial Project Management (CA-CPD) component.

To enable in-period forecasting for master projects, the following objects are used:

  • A virtual provider to read actual data.
  • An InfoCube to store historical actual postings. This is an optional data store to optimize the data needed for in-period forecasting.
  • A DTP report to transfer actual data from the virtual provider to the InfoCube. This is required only if you want to use the InfoCube to store historical data and improve performance during in-period forecasting.

You can use this Business Add-In (BAdI) to specify the number of days for which the virtual provider reads data, for the purpose of in-period forecasting. All actual data that is older than the specified number of days is then transferred into the InfoCube.

You have set up a data transfer process to copy data into the InfoCube, as described in Customizing for SAP Commercial Project Management, under Analytics > Periodic Tasks > Set Up Data Transfer Process for Analytics.

For more information about the standard settings (filters, single or multiple uses), see the Enhancement Spot Element Definitions tab in the BAdI Builder (transaction SE18).

The default implementation specifies a period of 30 days for data in the virtual provider.
