In SAP Commercial Project Management, real-time analytics for cross-project and project analysis is based on plan data either from Project Cost and Revenue Planning (if you have activated Project Cost and Revenue Planning functions, business function: /CPD/CA_CPD_PFP_1) or ERP, and actuals from ERP. The actuals that are posted to ERP are stored in tables COVP (at line item level) and COSP/COSS (at summary level). The actuals for statistical key figures in ERP are stored in tables COVPR (line items) or COSR (summary line).

Plan data for financial planning scenarios are read either from the Project Cost and Revenue Planning real-time InfoCube /CPD/PFP_R01 (if you have activated Project Cost and Revenue Planning functions through business function /CPD/CA_CPD_PFP_1) or directly from Controlling.

Analytical reports such as hierarchical cost status and project cost status are derived from two data sources - an InfoCube (/CPD/AVR_C01) that stores historical actuals upto a certain date, and a virtual provider that retrieves the rest of the actuals. BAdI: Actuals Until Cut-Off Date allows you to specify the number days for which the data should not be copied to the InfoCube.

In this activity, you set up a data transfer process to retrieve and store records of actual postings in the InfoCube.

Note:

This is an optional activity. However, this step is recommended for scenarios with large projects and large number of actual postings.

You have done the following:

  • Installed and activated relevant BI content for analytics in SAP Commercial Project Management. For more information, see SAP Note 2455203.
  • Defined an active implementation of BAdI: Actuals Until Cut-Off Date, in Customizing for SAP Commercial Project Management, under Analytics > Business Add-Ins. This BAdI allows you to specify the number days for which the data should not be copied to the InfoCube.
  • Ensured correct mapping between key figures and cost elements, and the mapping between resources and resource types using BRF+ rules. You can check these settings in Customizing for SAP Commercial Project Management > Analytics:

As an alternative, you may use the Check for Missing Configurations program (/CPD/R_AVR_MP_CUST_CHECK) to detect and maintain necessary settiings.

The default implementation is set for 30 days. Hence, all actual records that were created earlier than 30 days from today will be copied to the InfoCube. The remaining actual records for analytical reporting is retrieved from the virtual provider.

Execute the process chain /CPD/AVR_PC01 (transaction RSPC) in your BW client:

We recommend that you execute this process chain on a monthly frequency, preferable after period end activities.
