In this Customizing activity, you define settings for the rate card editor. In Project Workspace(CA-CPD-WS), you use the rate card function to maintain rates with validity dates and for services that can be billed to a client.

Do the following to create rate classes:

1. Define rate classes by specifying the condition type and subtotal levels for rate calculation.

Note that each rate class can have only one unique condition type.

1. Define rate card profiles by selecting a suitable factory calendar and rate category.

For each rate card profile, make the following settings:

• Map SD document types to rate card profiles. Note that an SD document type can be assigned to only one rate card profile.

• Map rate classes to rate card profiles. You can assign the same rate class to multiple rate card profiles. Ensure that the condition level of the rate class is compatible with the rate category of the rate card profile.

You have defined master project types in the Customizing activity Make Settings for Master Projects.

The following standard settings are necessary:

• Factory calendars according to your region (Maintain Calendar)

• SD related settings such as:

• SD document types

• Material master

• Pricing
