You use this Business Rule Framework plus (BRFplus) decision table to define the resource types and resource selectors for cost elements.

BRFplus allows you to easily define rules to determine how actual records are mapped to resource types and resources. This configuration is simpler than the configuration provided by the traditional Customizing. For example, conditions like cost element = X and activity type is greater than or lesser than L100, L200, L300, can be easily defined by BRFplus constructs, in a customer implementation.

You have made the following entries in the decision table:

  • From Cost (cost element): 64000
  • Name(technical name of the resource or resource type): /CPD/FRTYP
  • Value(value of the resource or resource type): 0ACT
  • ResrcSel. (resource selector): 02 (From Activity Type)

These entries indicate that the actual records are posted against the cost element 640000and that the activity type must be mapped to the resource type 0ACT. The resource selector field indicates how the resource must be determined:

  • If the resource is the same as the material in the actual record, set the value as 01.
  • If the resource is the same as activity type in the actual record, set the value to 02.
  • If the resource has been created in Customizing for Commercial Project Management, the resource selector value must be left blank and two entries must be defined (one for the resource (/CPD/FRES) and one for the resource type (/CPD/FRTYP).
