/CPD/VCPWS_ROLE_PROF - Define Role Profiles

In this Customizing activity, you define roles that represent user functions in a real-world project. By creating a role profile, you can also group together roles for different types of project set-up.

Note that this role is specific to Project Workspace(CA-CPD-WS) and is not an object for authorization.

1. Create roles that suit your business needs.
2. Define the partner functions and object links from which users can be imported into a master project team. This setting is a prerequisite for importing members from assigned business objects. User details are imported only if they are assigned to the specified partner function.

Note that this setting does not apply to members who are directly assigned to teams using business partner master data or HR master data.

1. Group related project roles into a role profile, which can be assigned to master project types. You can assign a role to multiple role profiles, as required.

• You have made the following settings in Customizing for SAP Commercial Project Managememt by choosing Master Data-> Master Project:

• Identified business object types for master projects in Make Settings for Objects

• Created object links by indicating the logical system for each business object type in Define Object Links and Logical Systems

• Relevant partner functions exist in the system.

The following roles are available as part of Project Workspace (CA-CPD-WS) without specific reference to partner functions:

• Project Manager

• Project Member

Assign role profiles to master project types in the Customizing activity Make Settings for Master Projects.
