Allows you to map various resources to appropriate resource types. This is a mandatory configuration to enable planning of resources in customer and internal projects.

You can map resources (activity types and expenses) to resource types for planning professional service projects.

You may assign resources to one of the following resource types:

• 0ACT - to plan human resources and staffing in work packages (for example, consultants)

It is recommended that you only assign resources that have H (Hour) as the unit of measure.

• 0SRV - to plan services in work packages (for example, test scripts or audit reports)

• 0ADL - to plan additional resources that support the activities in a work package (for example, a special server or equipment)

• 0EXP - to plan expenses in work packages (for example, airfare or accommodation)

Note: A resource can be assigned to only one resource type.

You may delete a resource only if the resource has not been used in project planning or to post actuals.

Before you map expenses, you must first define them in the configuration step Define Expenses.

Only activity types with Cost Center Category C (Professional Service) can be assigned to resource types 0ACT, 0SRV, and 0ADL. If you wish to use an activity type with other cost center categories, it is recommended to assign the relevant cost center categories individually, rather than selecting *.
