/CPD/VC_OBJ_ATTR_PR - Make Settings for Object Attributes

In this Customizing activity, you define the set of attributes that you want the system to retrieve and display for each business object type. Object attributes help business users to view important information about the business object, directly in the project workspace. For example, you may want to view details such as the date of creation, sales area, sold-to party, customer number, and so on.

You define object attributes in the following steps:

1. Create user-defined object attribute groups to display object attributes on the user interface.
2. Create object attribute profiles by assigning an object link to each profile. The system uses the detailed structure of the object link for obtaining object attributes. You define object links in Customizing by choosing Commercial Project Management -> Master Data -> Commercial Project -> Define Object Links and Logical Systems.
3. For each object attribute profile, add object attribute groups and specify the sequence in which the attribute groups must be displayed.
4. For each object attribute group, assign the required object attributes by entering the following:

• In the Attribute field, select an object attribute.

• In the Sequence field, enter the sequence in which the object attribute is displayed within the attribute group.

• In the Additional Info. field, enter a second object attribute that gives additional or related information about the first attribute. The second attribute's value is displayed as a description beside the value of the first attribute. For example, Created On and Created By or Customer Number and Customer Name.

Note that you can only choose from the object attributes that are retrieved by the implementing class and stored in the detail structure of the object link. For details about the object link setting, see the prerequisite Customizing activity Define Object Links and Logical Systems.

• You have set up commercial project-related objects such as a PS project, sales orders, and so on.

• You have completed the following activities in Customizing for Project Workspace (CA-CPD-WS):

• Make Settings for Objects

• Define Object Links and Logical Systems

Project Workspace (CA-CPD-WS) delivers the following object attribute setting:

To view object attributes in the workspace, assign object attributes to commercial project types in Customizing by choosing Commercial Project Management -> Master Data -> Commercial Project ->Make Settings for Commercial Projects.
