In this Customizing activity, you define organizational settings for master projects by creating organization profiles for locations and assigning organization units from an SAP organization structure in ERP.
You make these setting in the following steps:
- Define your own organization code for master projects. For example, a region, country, or city. For each organization code, specify the ERP organization per organization type. For each organization unit type that you specify, you must also indicate a default.
- Create organization profiles by assigning locations that are applicable for each profile.
Although the organization of a master project does not directly determine the organizational information in related business objects, this information can be used by project managers, controllers, and others in activities such as creating business objects or deciding the currency for planning documents.
You have created your enterprise structure in Customizing by choosing Enterprise Structure > Definition.
The standard delivery of Project Workspace(CA-CPD-WS) allows you to assign the following organizational unit types:
- Controlling Area
- Company Code
- Sales Organization
- Distribution Channel
- Division
- Purchasing Organization
- Cost Center
You can assign organization profiles to master project types in Customizing by choosing SAP Commercial Project Management > Master Data > Master Project > Make Settings for Master Projects.
