SAP E-Book

You use this Customizing activity to make the following settings for valuation strategies:

  • Define valuation strategies.
  • Assign multiple valuation methods to a valuation strategy and specify a sequence and a date rule for each valuation method. Note that date rules are required for applying prices from SAP ERP to resources, according to a specified pricing date.
Example
This Customizing activity is a prerequisite for calculating cost and revenues in the planning sheet. In this example, the valuation strategy can include two valuation methods - one that comes from Sales and Distribution (SD) and one that comes from Controlling( CO). You can specify the CO pricing to be calculated for costs and SD pricing for revenues.
If you have dependencies, you can further specify the sequence of the valuation methods, which will allow you, for example, to trigger the output value of method 1 to be the input value for method 2.
  • Map value fields to valuation methods.
  • Link the return value of each valuation method to the corresponding key figure in the planning workbook. Note that based on the implementation class linked to the valuation method, the corresponding return values are called by the system.

With these settings, you can define a valuation strategy, for example, with:

  • Pricing based on Sales and Distribution (SD) for one resource type
  • Pricing based on Controlling(CO) (activity pricing specified in the KP26 transaction) for another resource type
  • Pricing based on CO for costs and on SD for revenues, for the same resource type

SAP delivers the following standard shipment:

  • SD implementation classes
These implementation classes allow valuation based on SD pricing procedures.
  • CO implementation classes
These implementation classes allow valuation based on CO pricing procedures (transaction KP26).
  • Business Add-In (BAdI)
In addition to the input parameters entered by you in Make Settings for Valuation Methods, SAP delivers a BAdI that allows you to provide customized input parameters based on your business logic. To create your own BAdI implementation, see BAdI: Valuation. You can also specify your own date rule logic in addition to those delivered by SAP.
