Classification is used in the compatible unit solution for a number of purposes.
The compatible unit master data is classified with the allowed values of the characteristics in the compatible unit global class which is type "CUM". The compatible unit characteristics may have multiple allowed values entered.
The compatible unit instance, or the actual use of a compatible unit, is used in the design and the order and is classified with the actual selected values for the characteristics of the compatible unit instance global class. The compatible unit instance global class is of type "CUI" and the characteristics may only have a single value entered for each characteristic.
Each compatible unit instance may have values assigned to and influencing class. The influencing class characteristics
The characteristics for the global compatible unit and global compatible unit instances classes must be the same.
