/DMBE/VC_STATUS - Define Contract Status

In this Customizing activity, you assign different statuses to the contract status types. You can also use this Customizing activity to define which follow-on statuses can be selected for a status.

Define status types as follows:

1. Select the Status Typenode.
2. Define a status type and description.
3. Save your entries.

Define statuses for the status type as follows:

1. Select the Status Typenode.
2. Select the row with the relevant status type.
3. Select the Statusnode.
4. Specify one or more contract statuses for the status type.
5. Save your entries.

Define the allowed follow-up statuses as follows:

1. Select the Status Typenode.
2. Select the row with the relevant status type.
3. Select the Statusnode.
4. Select the row with the relevant status.
5. Select the Next Status Availablenode.
6. Specify which statuses can be selected as follow-up statuses to the selected status.
7. Save your entries.

You create the status type Paper Contractand assign three contract status types as follows:

Status Type	Contract Status	Description
PC	01	Contract Under Review
PC	02	Awaiting Trader Feedback
PC	03	Contract Approved

If you want to ensure that paper contracts with status 01 can only be moved to status 03, you would only assign the status 03 as the follow-up status as follows:

Status Type	Contract Status	Next Status	Description
PC	01	03	Contract Approved
