In this IMG activity, you check the Customizing settings for the extraction variants to see if they are compatible with the BI data mart interface, thus enabling data extractions form external BI systems.

Note

Carry out the checks in dialog mode, since the application log is not saved on the database. The function codes for batch processing are locked.

The validation includes the following checks:

  • Is the RFC connection available?
  • Is the data provider available as an active version?
  • Are characteristics and key figures available in the data provider (field catalog)?
  • Are characteristics and time characteristics available as selection parameters?

The system saves all messages that occur during a check in a temporary application log. The messages are displayed when the checks are complete.
