The Alternative Transfer of the Consumption data from SAP Business Intelligence (SAP BI) to SAP Forecasting & Replenishment (SAP F&R) provides a flexible and efficient way to retrieve consumption data from the OLAP (OnLine Analytical Processing) SAP BI system.

By default, the Alternative Transfer of Consumption data is retrieved from an SAP ERP system, PIPE (POS Inbound Processing Engine) or another OLTP (OnLine Transaction Processing) legacy system. The disadvantage of OLTPs is that the retention time for the consumption data is very short, usually less than one month. Since SAP F&R usually needs over two years of consumption data, this data should be retrieved from BI. The consumption data stored in BI usually has a long retention period.

You use this Customizing screen to activate or deactivate the Alternative Transfer of Consumption from BI. You can also enter the default parameters for parallel process instead of manually filling the /FRE/BIF_BI_CONS_UPL transaction each time.
