The Initial Transfer of the Consumption data from the Business Information Warehouse (BW) to SAP Forecasting & Replenishment (F&R) provides a flexible and efficient way to retrieve consumption data from the OLAP (online analytical processing) BW system. By default, the Initial Transfer of Consumption data is retrieved from an SAP ERP system, PIPE (POS Inbound Processing Engine) or another OLTP (online transaction processing system) legacy system. The disadvantage of those OLTPs is that the retention time for the consumption data is very short, usually less than one month. Since F&R usually needs over two years of consumption data, this data should be retrieved from BW. The consumption data stored in BW usually has a long retention period.

You use this Customizing screen to define all the required parameters for transferring the consumption from BW or from a legacy system.

The overview screen displays each profile that is maintained. Only one line can be the default for distribution centers, and one line for stores. You can set both defaults for the same line, if desired. Double click on an overview line to see the details.

You need to assign profiles to a location in the master data for location /FRE/MASS_LOC.

IMPORTANT:When you are maintaining a profile, the system does not check to see whether the values you entered exist in BW. In particular, there is no check on the existence of the data source (InfoProvider) or the field names in SAP BW. It is very important that you use existing values here, otherwise the transfer will result in errors.
