You can change configuration settings for standard F&R exceptions on the level of exception object type. An exception object type is technically defined by a message ID and a message number. At runtime, whenever an object of the regarding type is created, the configuration settings of the object type are handed down to object that is being created.

The settings of the following attributes of high level Forecast & Replenishment (F&R) exceptions can be changed:

  • Priority of an F&R exception with the following values:
  • High Priority

The system displays high priority exceptions in the Exception Workbench and in the Replenishment Workbench with the following icon:
@5C@
  • Medium Priority

The system displays medium priority exceptions in the Exception Workbench and in the Replenishment Workbench with the following icon:
@5D@
  • Low Priority:

The system displays low priority exceptions in the Exception Workbench and in the Replenishment Workbench with the following icon:
@5B@
  • Not relevant:

Exceptions that are identified as not relevant are switched off; that is, they are not generated during runtime.
You can define F&R exception priorities using the following levels:
  • Generic (valid for all exception context objects)

  • Only for the context object Distribution Center

  • Only for the context object Store

  • Validity period (in days):
You can define the maximum number of days that an F&R exception object is stored before it can be deleted from database by the reorganization report.

You can define validity for F&R exceptions using the following levels:
  • Generic (valid for all exception context objects)

  • Only for the context object Distribution Center

  • Only for the context object Store

  • Suppress Extraction to BW (BW Flag):
This flag determines whether an F&R exception is relevant for analytical reporting and therefore will be extracted to the SAP Business Warehouse (BW).
  • Not Relevant For Display (Display Flag):
This flag determines whether an exception is displayed in the F&R user interfaces such as the Replenishment Workbench or the Exception Workbench. It also determines whether such exceptions are considered by the nonanalytical F&R processes. If you set this indicator, the exception is only used for analytical purposes.

NOTE: There is a separate parameter for controlling the display of an exception in the Replenishment Workbench for Stores (RWBS).
  • Suppress in RWBS (RWBS Flag):
    Set this indicator to suppress F&R exceptions in the Replenishment Workbench for Stores (RWBS).
  • OPM release indicator
The order proposal relevance indicator defines whether an F&R exception is relevant for automatic release of order proposals. If the OPM indicator is set for an F&R exception, the occurrence of this exception prevents the assigned order proposal from being released automatically.
You can set the indicator generically or for a specific target location type.

NOTE: Other settings of F&R exception attributes, such as message category and message type, are fixed by SAP and cannot be changed in Customizing.

For each F&R high level exception, a standard configuration setting with all required attributes is delivered so that from a functional point of view nothing is missing. However, you can adjust the settings of the attributes listed above to the needs of your specific business processes.
